The Armenia Print Collection
In my life, I am an artist first and foremost. I have never offered prints of my original landscape paintings before, as painting has always been something very sacred and personal to me, but after my trip to Armenia in 2023, I couldn’t help, but find myself continuously painting off of the photos I had taken. I stepped away from the notion of making a perfect painting, but rather truly painting sceneries that I found myself coming back to and being embedded in my memory for various reasons. These paintings were started in 2023, with the most recent being completed in 2026. They are very special to me, as throughout the painting process I initially wanted to document my homeland’s churches and landscapes, I felt it was my duty as an Armenian painter, but they were also a source of reflection for myself of our history, my own melancholy as an Armenian, hope, and a newfound realisation of the importance of continuing and existence.
Each description is accompanied by a personal note about the painting.
