We were walking along the road to reach the Haghartsin Monastery complex and I kept looking along the side of the road. Overgrown with plants, you could often catch ruins of structures lost to history or khachkars that have become one with the landscape of Dilijian. Many reference photos were taken on that day along that road and I wanted to capture one of these scenes with this painting and this feeling of how embedded we are on this land just as those ruins and those khachkars.
Part of my collection of paintings from my last trip to Armenia in 2023, I hope to capture these one of a kind moments from my homeland and document the beauty of my culture.
